Child Abuse Treatment (CHAT)

WHAT IS THE CHILD ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAM (CHAT)?

Lake Family Resource Center CHAT Program helps children, under the age of 18, who have experienced trauma in their life such as abuse, neglect, bullying, or being victimized by crime.

• Play and Individual Therapy

• Assist abused children in healing from their trauma

• Strengthen children socially, emotionally, and intellectually with a strength based model

• Assistance with crime victim compensation

• Assistance with court preparation and criminal proceedings

• Information and referrals

• Case management

 

Our services are confidential and offered at no cost.

LakeFRC Child Abuse Treatment Lake Family Resource Center is committed to assuring the health and well-being of all children in Lake County. Children and families who have been victims of child abuse can heal. This can be accomplished by educating families about trauma informed care and the special needs of developmental trauma and its impacts on children.

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS

Children 18 and under who have experienced;

• Physical abuse, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, and/or emotional abuse;

• Neglect, severe neglect, and/or witness to violence in the home;

• Parental chemical substance abuse;

• Child abduction by a family member or a non-family member;

• Bullying per California Education Code 489000

• A police report is not required for a child to receive services.
