What is the Tobacco Control Program?
The Lake County Tobacco Control Program is funded through Proposition 99. The Tobacco Control Program educates our community about the resources available to undo tobacco everywhere.
Our services include:
*Adult Tobacco Coalition
*Youth STOMP Coalition
*Clerk Trainings
*Retailer Education
*Youth Purchase Surveys
*Education Curriculum for Youth, Advocating to Local and State Government Officials.
Did You Know?
-86.4% of Californian's are non-smokers?
-Second Hand Smoke contains 4,800 chemical compounds.
-69 of those compounds are known as carcinogens.
-43.6% of Lake County Retailers sold Tobacco Products to minors in the 2005 Youth Purchase Survey.
-Tobacco Kills more people than murders, suicides, DUI, and HIV combined?
-440,000 people die annually in the United States due to Tobacco Related Deaths?
